An Observer-Based Current Sensor-Less Control Scheme for Grid-Following Converters

Distributed energy resources based on grid-following inverters are the dominant part of future modern power systems. To achieve a higher performance, reliability enhancements and cost reductions such most important demands. In this respect, sensors one elements which greatly determine inverters, minimizing number may both lower costs reliability. addition, sensor data prone to cyber-attacks, sensor-less control techniques would improve cyber-physical tolerance capabilities system. This paper proposes grid-side current technique for inverters. proposed scheme, an observer is suggested estimates currents by processing measured DC-link voltage. The estimated fed loops inverter. verify effectiveness stability overall structure analyzed, including nonlinear dynamics voltage in various operating points, using eigen value analysis time domain simulations. results demonstrate that scheme preserves proper margin performance GF-VSC, even presence uncertainty output filter inductance.
